Reach plc website

Reach are the UK’s largest newspaper publisher, with a portfolio spanning iconic household titles such as The Mirror, The Daily Star,
OK Magazine and many more.

The brief was to transform their digital presence whilst future proofing them for years to come as not just a publisher of the printed medium, but as a dynamic digital innovator within the media and content space. The website needed to speak to multiple audiences including investors, stakeholders, customers and employees alike.

To set the strategic framework for the project a double diamond approach
was incorporated to help outline the activities for each stage of work.

The discovery session held with various stakeholders across the business helped to define the goals and user needs.

Creating a compelling narrative and messaging for the website was imperative before the visual language could be executed as it would inform the new identity. Working closely with their internal stakeholders we crafted a tone of voice that would address all of their users and would work hard when married up with the creative direction.

An analysis of the existing site and analytics gave insight into which areas of the site people were engaging with the most, the sitemap and content was then restructured to reflect this.

Designs created fell into two routes, the first positioning Reach as an engaging campaigner for good and the second, as an innovative market leader.

Once the client decided on a final route, a design system and pattern library was created ready for handover to the development team to build.
